Last Sunday we were feeling a bit too hungover to cook (we’d run out of eggs anyway) so we decided to go out for breakfast. We got the bus from Tooting down to Earlsfied to check out Mel’s Cafe Bar. It was still fairly early, only about 10am so it was pretty quiet. We were met by very friendly staff and found a nice table by the window. The atmosphere was very relaxed, we ordered a couple of Americanos and had a look at the menu. There was a good selection of breakfast highlights included Eggs benedict, and scambled egg and smoked salmon, not to mention the pancake dishes. However it was “The Works” that instantly caught my eye, I was in the mood for a full English.
All in all Mel’s is a great place to go for breakfast, maybe a little bit more expensive than your standard cafe but its money well spent as the quality of the food was much better, and the decor, service and atmosphere were great. We came home cured from our hangover, and feeling inspired, highly recommend coming here!
